A teacher came up with a simple idea that may truly help; Each week she has all of the students write down the names of four students they’d like to sit with the following week and also nominate an exceptional classroom student. All of the results are submitted anonymously. She is looking for the students names who dont appear, these are the ones who need care & attention: https://www.cheatsheet.com/culture/teacher-has-a-brilliant-idea-for-preventing-future-school-shootings.html/?a=viewall
They've destroyed media vans, thrown down cameras, and body checked reporters to the ground. It makes no sense for them to try and silence the media if they want their message out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kOUrAPJmXY https://twitter.com/TreyWCNC/status/778444705981870080
People are not tuning out of football because it's dangerous. As humans, we love violence. If your argument was that people are tuning out because of all the new rules that are trying to make the game more safe, you may have been on to something.
I agree. It's one person's word against another's. The best advice I can give to young people is to consider that before drunken one night stands.
The testosterone level that MTF transwomen must remain below is 10 nmol/L. 2-3 nmol/L is the average maximum level for females. That is more than three times higher.
I have never clicked on an advertisement before so I am not generating them any money regardless of whether I can see the ads or not.
Thirteen Friday the Thirteenths!
Any reasonable person should have known an unclassified server was no place for that information.
He should have just plead guilty. His dad thought they could beat it and ended up dragging his son through worse. I don't feel bad for the kid, he is a rapist, but the case was dealt with horribly.
It's animal nature for the strong to pick on the weak. Until the person getting bullied shows that they aren't weak, they will continue to be bullied. You don't do that by telling teachers, but by hitting back. Greg's story is a perfect example of how this works.
The TSA was created because people were afraid post-9/11. The government used fear from its citizens to support the creation of a pointless government agency after pressure from the unions who wanted more jobs.
Budweiser is probably the most iconic American brand of beer there is. Although it isn't owned by an American company anymore, it was created here and continues to be manufactured here.
One of the best players to ever play college football, but his off-field escapades will forever overshadow his on-field accomplishments. Sad stuff...
"Hottot claimed it can be hard for people to get their money back in civil forfeiture cases because it can cost too much to hire a lawyer. 'They don't have the money to fight. They don't have the will to fight,' he said. 'Many people simply give-up.'"
The bathroom thing is just a smokescreen, just like separate water fountains was.
Unless you live off the wilderness alone, you are benefiting from public infrastructure.
I don’t think there is any link between military service and better presidential performance. The military can teach good attributes for a president like delegation and respect for chain of command, but simply being in the military doesn’t make them necessarily better presidents. Look at George W. Bush, a First Lieutenant in the Texas Air National Guard. He screwed up the occupation of Iraq and were still fighting to get out of that one.
I used to work in a nursing home and I think that people who suffer from Alzheimer's and their families should have this option. It's heartbreaking to see what they go through.
You can build a PC for about $300 that would be better than a console in every technical aspect.
I agree that merchandise sold with their name on it is unfair. Maybe they should just get some money from jersey sales.
I believe that this could be achieved through different organizations if there was an absence of Greek life.
It shows a lot about his and his father's character that they went so far to cover it up. They even wrote unflattering things about her in their autobiography. It doesn't change my opinion as him being one of the best quarterbacks to ever live, but it does ruin his squeaky clean persona I once believed he had. He just needs to retire at this point.
If that bad decision was preventable and killed people, he should go to jail.
Modern socialists want to link public works to socialism in attempt to expand their agenda.
We have entered an era of push-button war in which purely physical strength has lost much if not all of its military relevance. To the extent that strength continues to matter, some women can meet the requirements and should be given a chance to qualify. Other than physical strength, there are no militarily relevant differences between men and women.
The gap is bigger than you think offensively. He has the best dribbling skills I have seen in a long time, as well as the second best 3-point shooting percentage of all time. He plays very selfless basketball which is why his team does as well as it does. Check out his top assists: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YgGqHY-54k
No it won't. As long as people keep watching it, it will continue. It doesn't get as many views as a normal NFL game but it still attracts quite a crowd.
I actually like the Pro Bowl. They're usually high scoring, tons of interceptions, players having fun. It's an all star game. Don't take it too seriously. It's also the second to last game for 6 months so enjoy it while it lasts.
Spike Lee is washed up. He's probably just doing this for attention to get back in the spotlight. I agree though, it's not the Academy being purposefully racist.
Besides the car, because it was planted, how was there no blood in the bedroom, on the mattress, or in the garage? There is no way Steven Avery could have cleaned that carpeted trailer without leaving a trace of blood or DNA from Halbach while also not making it look like it was just cleaned. He's not exactly a criminal mastermind.
This is the best theory I have seen so far: "The police didn't kill Theresa Halbach. Andrew Colborn located that RAV4 with the assistance of Mike Halbach and Ryan Hillegas who illegally trespassed onto the Avery Salvage Yard on the night of November 3rd 2005. Mike Halbach and Ryan Hillegas suspected something was up since the Avery Salvage Yard was the last place they knew Theresa visited on Oct.31st Halloween day. They went snooping on the property and found the car. They checked the car and found the key in the ignition and blood in the cargo area. Mike or Ryan removed the key from the ignition to ensure that no one could easily move the car off of the Avery property... freaked out about this huge discovery they call the Manitowoc Sheriffs Department. Andrew Colborn fielded the call that night and went out and met Ryan and Mike at the Salvage Yard so he could view the car for himself. Ryan and Mike show him the car and to be certain its Halbachs he "calls" in the plate number to dispatch. Colborn has to "call" in... instead of "radio" in... the plate number to Manitowoc dispatch because he wasn't in his police cruiser at the moment, but rather on foot and in the "field' on the Avery Salvage property. This mistake places Colborn at the scene and in contact with Halbachs RAV4... 2 days before it is officially located on November 5th, 2005, by Pam Sturm.... This is problematic for Colborn because all call and radio transmissions to dispatch are recorded and logged onto the Manitowoc Police server. Andrew Colborn is now operating outside of police protocol at a potential crime scene that he has no official directive to be at. He tells Mike Halbach and Ryan Hillegas to basically STFU about what they found and not mention to anyone that they were ever on the Avery Salvage property that night. Ryan or Mike turns the RAV4 key over to Andrew Colborn. Mike and Ryan are told to go home. Andrew Colborn then immediately calls Lt. James Lenk and briefs him about the discovery of the Halbach car and breaches of protocol he committed on the Avery property, also about Ryan Hillegas and Mike Halbach being there. Lt James Lenk realizing that Colborn's calling in Halbachs plate is a serious mistake with potential consequences orders Andrew Colborn to remove the license plate from Halbach's car and then report to him immediately. What James Lenk and Andrew Colborn, or the others for that matter, don't realize at this point and are completely unaware of is that Bobby Dassey and Scott Tadych have kidnapped, raped, shot and then burned Theresa Halbach in the privacy of the gravel quarry off of Jambo Rd on Halloween evening. They choose to burn her body to dispose of their DNA evidence of the crimes. They hid Halbach's car in the rear of Avery Salvage and wiped it clean of their prints. I believe it is Scott Tadych's idea to secretly transport the cremains of Halbach from the gravel quarry and dispose them into Steven Avery's burn pit. Scott Tadych transports Halbach's cremains in secret by using one of Barb Jandas burn barrels from her yard. Scott Tadych fails to collect all of Halbach's cremains from the original burn site in the gravel quarry, thus leaving some behind that FBI investigators later find... but he also fails in making certain all of Halbach's cremains are out of Barb Jandas burn barrel after dumping them into Steven Avery's burn pit. This is why investigators found small bits of Halbach in Barb Jandas burn barrel. Thus making a total of three sites where Halbach's cremains are found. Scott Tadych and Bobby Dassey are unaware that Ryan Hillegas and Mike Halbach have found Theresas car on the property and that Lenk and Colborn are now involved and in play with their scheme. .........By shear colossal luck, two completely independent frame jobs targeting one man, Steven Avery were shaping up into the perfect storm. On one front, from Lenk and Colborn regarding the RAV4, ....and on the other unconnected front by Scott Tadych and Bobby Dassey regarding the cremains of Theresa Halbach. One party wasn't aware of the other's involvements at any point during the days leading up to the official discovery of Halbach's RAV4 at the Avery Salvage Yard hence why the investigation and murder trial made zero sense to anyone especially the Jury. None of the evidence could be connected because it was all unrelated... everybody was guessing. But Buting and Strang had zeroed in on a part of it but couldn't fully form a solid defense to prove it. The Jury couldn't conceive that Manitowoc officers could have conspired to kill Theresa Halbach to frame Steven Avery as Ken Kratz insisted they had to if they wanted to follow the theory the defense presented of the frame up of Steven Avery by Manitowoc officials. And Ken Kratz was right... Imagine Scott Tadych's confused and utter relief when Steve Avery's blood was found in the Halbach car and the RAV4 key found in Steve Avery's bedroom..... he must have been like.... WTF?! A quote from Scott Tadych after Steven Avery is convicted of Theresa Halbach's murder.... "THIS IS THE GREATEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN" ..... We will see Scott, we will see....................."
That theory doesn't make sense. The Martian was a huge blockbuster film grossing over $225,000,000. I'd say Mad Max would fall under the "blockbuster" category as well making over $150,000,000. Shouldn't the movies that people like more and pay to go see be the best movies of the year? Why don't we just use the math instead of letting this group of old guys decide which movies they liked best.
Is someone a Steelers fan? Banished from the NFL is a bit steep of a punishment. He will get a game or two suspension with a hefty fine as he deserves.
It's even more outside the US. In Europe it's 699 euros. In some countries its over $1000 US dollars after shipping.
A college education doesn’t magically turn a criminal into a good person. A man who beats his wife would have done so with or without knowing calculus.
Absolutely not! By doing this, people who commit crimes against taxpayers now expect their victims to pay for their college education. How does that make any sense?
You are right to a certain extent. If we implemented strict gun laws, we would still see shootings for quite a long time. There are guns everywhere. Eventually the amount of guns in the US would diminish from people breaking them, losing them or getting them taken away and consequently the amount of mass shootings would diminish.
Yep! Nevada and Arizona have very lenient gun laws. A lot of time people will just FedEx a gun into California if they don’t feel like making the drive. The same is done all over the country. Illinois has strict gun laws but their neighbor Indiana doesn’t.
It has been shown over and over again, in controlled scientific trials, that stimulant medication is the best and safest means of counteracting the symptoms of ADHD. As many as 80% of children respond well to one of these medications.
While I agree that a lot of people who are prescribed ADD and ADHD medications don’t actually have the disorders, that doesn’t mean that they are serious mental disorders. For people with ADD or ADHD the slightest thing can break your concentration making it near impossible to focus. Their brains just don’t allow it. So it’s easy to use ADD and ADHD as a scapegoat for lack of motivation, but people who actually have the disorders should not be slighted.
Pre-ordering was brought on because developers had no concrete way of predicting how many copies of their game to ship to retailers. This led to retailers and developers getting a large influx of money before they even released the game. So retailers start cutting deals with developers to get exclusive content to boost their sales. Game developers get in on the action and start spending excessive amounts on advertising to boost pre-release sales for the game rather than on development. Because of this, less is spent on game content and the gameplay suffers as a consequence. Once people stop pre-ordering developers will be forced to return to making quality games. I’m doing my part, are you?
Status as an organ donor should be private until death.
Just like cars and computers, at first this will be only for the rich, but eventually it would become mass market.
I would have been all for this when I was 18. Now that I am an adult, I think back and am glad that it wasn’t 18. I was far too immature to be able to handle that kind of power.
Trailers actually used to be at the end of movies, hence their name “trailers.” They were to entice viewers to come back to the theater for upcoming movies. I wouldn’t mind them returning to this method so I wouldn’t have to sit through 30 minutes of trailers before the movie I came to see acutally begins.
