@farsighted are you saying welfare is a bad idea? I personally know a few single Moms who wouldn't have made it back on their feet without assistance and studies have shown that it can be positive for society overall - I don't want to see it abused but there are many who need it.

I think the issue with your argument is that there is competition among these corporations. So if one company was actually hording a cure for a disease, if they don't release it, someone else will.

Just because the US isn't the worst in the world is not a valid reason for us to not reform our overcrowded and unfair prison system. The Middle East is not a valid comparison for how we should treat criminals, especially juveniles.

If you look at this site that shows the news sources that Americans like and ones they dislike, there are plenty of sources out there that we like.

The networks that host Presidential debates aren't looking to create an informative debate. They want entertaining TV that their network pundits will be able to talk about for weeks afterwards.

Some fans out there are furious with Colin Kaepernick and the other protesting players. He's had his jersey burned and received death threats. If people are that enraged by the protests, they are probably the ones not watching anymore.

What's weird to me is that she went to Chelsea's place where there is a young child. I don't think she would risk getting her grand kid sick if she had actually had pneumonia.

"The question 'Do you prefer that your toilet tissue unwinds over or under the spool?' is featured on the cover of Barry Sinrod and Mel Poretz's 1989 book The First Really Important Survey of American Habits. The overall result: 68 percent chose over."

Every actual law requires the person to be incapable of consent, not just inebriated. The real question is where is that boundary? There have been tons of cases where the woman claims that she was passed this point because she regretted having sex with someone. It's a messy situation because we can't have people taking advantage of passed out girls like Brock Turner did, but we also can't jail men for having consensual sex that women regret.

“We’ve seen it in 90 out of 94 NFL players whose brains we’ve examined, we’ve found it in 45 out of 55 college players and six out of 26 high school players.” High school is bad too. 6 out of 26 is more of a gamble than I would take with my sons health.

The burkini represents an ideology of oppression that is fundamentally wrong. While banning an article of clothing seems a bit silly, the west doesn't want to tolerate such ideals.

August 18, 2017 14:16:55

Hormones don't change skeletal structure.

August 16, 2017 14:30:56

So the IOC will ban athletes for taking the wrong over the counter medicines from Walgreens but loading your body up with hormones for a whole year is absolutely fine?

August 11, 2017 17:11:41

It's essentially the DVR or TiVo of the internet. I don't watch commercials on TV anymore and I don't watch ads on the internet anymore.

August 9, 2017 15:50:40

In that system, holidays, birthdays, etc. would always fall on the same day of the week. I wouldn't want my birthday to be a Tuesday every year for my entire life.

August 3, 2017 19:22:26

Her parents educated themselves before allowing her to transition and have all the necessary supports in place. Jazz is an extremely strong young lady who though the power of her TV show is educating others in similar situations.

August 3, 2017 17:53:04

Getting into the debates would be huge for 3rd party candidates. I think one of the major issues is that Americans are unaware who the other candidates are and what they stand for. The media only covers Trump and Clinton. How are people supposed to get to know other candidates if they never see them?

July 11, 2017 13:14:32

When I got my security clearance I was told that if I let my classified information out, even unintentionally through negligence, that it is a federal crime. Some people are just above the law I suppose...

July 5, 2017 16:59:22

An AR-15 may be more reliable, modifiable and easy to use, but nobody "needs" one. A need is something that is essential and you can't live without like food and water. Guns will always fall under the "want" category. Now, does that mean I think they should be illegal to civilians? No, but I wanted to make the distinction between "want" and "need."

6 months is not nearly long enough. Prosecutors were asking for 6 years. Listen to the victims letter to Turner.

May 31, 2017 14:09:56

There becomes a point where fighting back is necessary. Example: It's a really interesting story. This boy has become a hero of sorts to other people who are getting bullied. He has much more self-esteem and seems overall happier.

May 26, 2017 18:01:05

The point is that unless they can take over the plane, they aren't going to do any real damage. Have you ever been on a bus or train? They don't check to see if you have scissors with you. The person next to you on the bus could easily bring scissors on as a weapon, but we don't worry about that. Throw a plane into the picture and then it becomes a huge deal. Why?

May 12, 2017 14:15:35

You are exactly the target market I suppose. Idiots who will buy a product that they know they don't like just because it says "America" on it.

April 18, 2017 11:06:50

The issue is that they aren't assuming assets from just criminals. They are taking from innocent people. I am all for them being able to confiscate things from criminals, but they should have to have had charges filed against them.

April 13, 2017 14:17:01

This law won't stop that! Those type of people will always exist and should not be associated with the LGBT community.

April 7, 2017 17:11:17

The rich and famous still use a lot of things that the government provides. How would they get anywhere without roads? Who is to stop everyone from steeling their money or hurting them without police? By hiding their money from taxation, they aren't paying their portion of the "bill" which makes everyone else's taxes go up.

March 22, 2017 18:19:07

Like I said, there are these extremely PC people who are very vocal about their opinions. My argument is that they do not make up a majority of students in college. I looked up your pumpkin spice latte incident. So it would seem that you went to Swarthmore College, and the article about the lattes was written in your school newspaper by one extreme feminist. It's not as if your whole school thought it was sexist to dislike lattes.

March 22, 2017 14:54:41

The media needs to change as well. Every single media outlet has a bias and an agenda. They never cover any worthwhile content. Rather, they spend their time talking about how Marco Rubio sweats too much or that Donald Trump has small hands.

March 22, 2017 14:23:52

Of course they make better Presidents. One of the President’s main jobs is to be the Commander-in-Chief of Americas military. I would say someone who doesn’t have military background shouldn’t be given the highest rank in our military and be in charge of making huge military decisions.

March 21, 2017 14:27:05

Absolutely! There is so much corruption in our government and the Flint Water Crisis if proof of that. The cover-up goes so deep. Snyder says he knew about the water in October (probably more like July or August) and didn’t declare a state of emergency until January. Yet this guy still has his job. He should be in jail. We need to hold government officials responsible for their actions, it is the only way to fix corruption.

March 21, 2017 14:04:16

I would say that there are far fewer college leftists and SJWs than people think, but they are extremely vocal about their beliefs and don’t back down. So it seems like college students are much more PC today, but in reality most college-aged kids are as non-PC as ever.

March 16, 2017 14:24:02

That article also states, "There is nothing in the Bible that tells us we must do everything we can to keep someone alive for as long as possible. So, we are not under obligation to prolong the life of someone who is suffering. If someone is terminally ill and in great pain, we should make the person as comfortable as possible during this process of dying. We should not hasten his death. Instead, we should let death take its natural course but make every effort to comfort those who are suffering."

March 16, 2017 14:16:07

"Thou shalt not kill, but needst not officiously strive to keep alive." Euthanasia, in my interpretation of the bible, is okay if it is the final option.

March 14, 2017 19:03:14

Linus Tech Tips is a bit biased since all they do is build and play gaming computers. Obviously they are going to say computers are better.

March 2, 2017 20:39:34

That's true but our government doesn't seem to stop spending. That's why there is all this talk about what departments we need to defund. What we shouldn't do is have our government spending more money on free college and universal healthcare.

February 25, 2017 21:25:40

Of the 6000 members, 94% are white and just 2% are black. The median age is 62 years old... Just sayin' there's some racists in the bunch.

February 25, 2017 20:42:01

They're a bunch of religious nutjobs who need to mind their own damn business. We are in the twenty-first century and for our government to even be considering defunding PP is absolutely barbarian.

February 23, 2017 16:31:57

Networking is arguably more important than anything else that you do at college.

February 17, 2017 21:18:01

It's clearly a marketing move which a lot of people are falling for. The FBI could just give the phone to Apple, have Apple get the information off of it and give it to the FBI. That way the FBI never gets the backdoor technology and everyone happy.

February 12, 2017 19:48:46

Detroit’s water comes from Lake Huron. It’s a glacial lake so the water is very clean. The governor overruled the people who were elected in Flint and appointed his own people to find ways to cut costs like getting rid of clean drinking water. They knew the Flint River water wasn’t quality water, everyone knew that. You don’t need a special degree to know you don’t drink from the Flint River. The people begged for their clean drinking water back for a year but Gov. Snyder refused. Now, the vast majority, if not all, of the children in Flint are going to pay for it for the rest of their lives.

The debate is less about Planned Parenthood and more about whether abortion is murder or not. I can't imagine anyone hates Planned Parenthood because they give breast cancer examinations. People who hate abortion believe that Planned Parenthood should not be government funded because then their taxes are directly paying for women to kill their babies. Easy to see why they are up in arms about the situation.
