That sounds like a parenting issue. Why is your 16 year old daughter allowed to have 21+ year old friends who are giving her weed? Again, my point is that the current system is not working.
Let’s say weed was a gateway drug. This proves my point that we need to keep it out of the hands of our kids and that will be better done through government regulations. If you found your daughter with weed than clearly the current approach is not working. If we regulate it similarly or tougher than alcohol, your daughter will have less access to it.
Marijuana is addictive. It is not as addicting as nicotine and other drugs, but it’s not a health food supplement. My concern is right now we have a war on drugs that isn’t working. We are funneling billions of dollars into criminal organizations and gangs. Our kids have easier access to pot than they do alcohol. The current prohibition just isn’t working. If we actually start controlling it and regulating it and investing in research, we can keep people a lot safer.
