They actually tested this. "The findings emerging from these three sets of analyses converge on four main conclusions about the 1988 Canadian election: 1. Polls affected voters' perceptions of the various parties' chances of winning. 2. Polls affected the vote. 3. Polls affected strategic voting as some voters became less inclined to support a party whose chances of winning appeared slim. 4. Polls did not have a contagion effect, since voters did not come to evaluate the parties and leaders who were doing well in the polls more positively." https://www.press.umich.edu/pdf/0472099213-ch11.pdf

Actually, it is not longer allowed in the U.S. to sentence a juvenile to life w/ no parole. It has been that way since 2012. Look into Miller v. Alabama! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miller_v._Alabama

Killing a mic is a form of censorship. We aren't China, we are America and we can't be censored, especially our President.

When hung under, there is more friction when tearing with one hand. Much more functional for multitaskers as you can keep one hand open for whatever. Life's too short to be using two hands to tear toilet paper.

They aren't trying to combat terrorism. They prize homogeneity over religious freedom. They banned face covering in public years ago so this ban should come as no surprise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_ban_on_face_covering

Transgenders have been able to compete in the Olympics for the past 10 years and they haven't dominated. This Olympics is no different so far.

I had never considered that SEPtember, OCTober, NOVember, and DECember all represent the wrong month number. September should be the seventh and so on.

@TheSatanicHispanic Does this change your mind though? In another of your comments you inferred you were a libertarian of sorts. Which side would you rather control the Supreme Court?

Pokemon Go is getting kids active. It's not making kids violent, not that I think Call of Duty does either. Kids get out of their houses and out from in front of their TVs. My kids love it and its the summer so I'm always looking for things to keep them busy. I had a talk with them to tell them to always watch where they are walking and no injuries to report yet!

The Constitution was written in the 1700's. It has been amended before and it will be amended many more times. As our nation evolves and changes, so must our laws with it. Back when the Constitution was written, they didn't have weapons that could do the damage the AR-15 can and they probably couldn't even imagine such a powerful rifle.

It all starts with the parents. It's not actually in the kids genes that they are going to be fat because their parents are fat. Instead, the parents, that clearly have poor eating habits, allow their kids to not eat healthy (or they truly don't know what healthy eating is).

Movies and TV glorify when the kid fights the bully but for the most part that doesn't happen in real life. Usually the bully is the bigger, stronger of the two and not every story can be a David vs Goliath story.

Planes themselves are more safe. They have reinforced cockpits, more sky marshals and on edge passengers. The only real danger anymore is bombs. Who cares if someone brings on a pair of scissors? They aren't taking over the plane with those.

He's only 23 and he's thrown his life away. I don't feel bad for him at all. He deserves what he gets.

It may not mention anything about LGBT in the religious freedom law, but the main thing to take away from it is that it removes peoples right to sue employers under anti-discrimination rules. An employer can use their religion to justify discriminating against LGBT legally.

Exactly! You may not realize it, but simply by existing in a society with a government you are taking advantage of government services. Security is the biggest. The government makes and enforces laws which keep you safe. They also have an army to keep your country safe.

Abraham Lincoln, voted the best President America has ever had by Conservatives, only spent three months in the military (so basically wasn't in the military). FDR, voted the best President ever by Liberals, was also never in the military.

It isn’t detrimental to their cause when they are fighting to get people to stop using terms like ‘faggot.’ I would say that getting people to stop using ‘gay’ when they mean ‘bad’ is real action. By these people, who you deem “too politically correct,” standing up for what they believe in, they raise awareness to how offensive these terms can be.

Last year we had to put down my dog because it developed cancer. It was 15 years old and too old for cancer treatments to make sense. It was terribly sad but she went peacefully as I scratched her back while the vet gave her the shot. My grandmother suffered the last few months of her life with lung cancer. She was forced to live through the pain and barely being able to breathe when all she really wanted was for it all to be over. My dog had a better death than my grandmother.

Making college free would not dramatically increase the amount of people who have degrees. There are only so many colleges out there and only so many spots for students at each one. This is especially true because it would only be public universities that would become free. Currently there are 629 public 4-year institutions that enroll 6,837,605 students. So there would be roughly 1.7 million free tuitions per year.

This is evident with the Duke Lacrosse team. Fraternities and sports teams are held at a higher standard and people want to try and tear them down without facts and truths.

February 18, 2016 17:38:27

It's a similar situation to Bill Cosby. Someone we always thought was proper, moral person turns out to be quite the opposite.

The gap between them offensively is tiny in Curry's favor. The gap between them defensively is massive in LeBron's favor.

The market is immature already. Bud Light's Whatever, USA advertising campaign is absolutely ridiculous.

February 1, 2016 17:54:14

Who really cares if they are trying? I enjoy watching them all messing around and having fun. If you don't like the Pro Bowl, there's an easy solution, watch something else.

The median salary for an NFL player is under $1 million per year. In comparison, the median NBA player makes well over $2 million per year and they don't have to worry about C.T.E. I don't think the likelihood of brain injury determines your salary.

Las Vegas Sands vice president, Andy Abboud, proposed a $1 Billion stadium and he's meeting with the Raiders owner, Mark Davis. I would love for the Raiders to move to Vegas. http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/stadium/las-vegas-sands-proposes-1b-domed-stadium-adelson-meet-raiders-owner

What actors and actresses do you think deserved to be nominated? I personally can't think of any.

November 24, 2015 17:32:58

But just like cars and computers, rich people can afford nicer and more expensive ones.

November 24, 2015 17:31:44

What you speak of will bridge the gap even further between the upper and lower classes. Human genetic modification is not cheap and only the wealthier can afford it. So the rich will become significantly smarter and better abled than the rest of the population. The rich will get richer and poor will get poorer.

November 20, 2015 17:30:18

I doubt it. At a certain age you are still reliant on your parents taking you everywhere. Once you are able to drive is when you can start hiding things from them such as getting alcohol. So I could see 16 and 17 year olds getting their hands on some booze but they do that these days already with the drinking age at 21.

First of all, a normal person wouldn’t want to pirate movies because it is illegal/they don’t know how. Second, movie theaters are a better experience then watching it at home. There’s concessions and 70’ screens. I usually go see a movie about once every month.
