NOOOO WAAAAY!! Three of nation’s worst bottlenecks are in Northern Virginia, study finds: “The D.C. region, from a user’s perspective, is probably the worst in the entire country. We don’t have the sheer number of people that you do in L.A. or Chicago or New York, but it’s pretty miserable out there,” says Greg Cohen, president and CEO of the American Highway Users Alliance. “We have more crashes than we should. We are wasting fuel. We’re wasting time. There’s a lot to be done here, and I think the people in the D.C. area deserve some relief.”

Have to agree & this is off topic but @Kaja has another post about forced labor with immigrants in detention. What about everyone convicted of a crime being given hard labor tasks, those of less severe crimes can clean litter from roads, those of severe crimes can work within the prison, painting, etc. The rest of us have to work to supply their housing/meals, they should spend the rest of their days working... thoughts there? I know a lot of jurisdictions do this already but some are against it, curious as to why?

Wow! Wasn't even aware of this issue until your post. Found the article below & was against it, but then I thought crossing a border illegally is illegal (I know it's a strange concept that crossing an imaginary line is illegal but then again so are certain plants) so the punishment is a room, with food, until they put you back across the imaginary line until you decide at some point to try again... point is taxpayers are paying for the transportation, food, room, why not do a little work until you're brought back home...?

It most definitely is addictive. Addiction treatment specialists have seen firsthand that long term use leads to addiction and withdrawal symptoms.

It may not be as addictive and bad for you as “harder” drugs, but it is a gateway that leads to down that path.

That model of society could easily become practice if major genetic modification became standard practice. Is that a world we want to live in?

You and I both know that is bullshit. They are a taxi company that has found loop holes.

It doesn’t prove it but it gives researchers a much better idea. All mammals are descended from common ancestors, so humans are biologically very similar to other mammals. Of course there are minor differences, but they are outweighed by the remarkable similarities.

Drugs go through human trials after animal testing shows that they won’t kill people. To suggest stopping animal testing is to rush the process.
