You are correct that polls only sample people that are interested in participating in the poll. However, this is perfectly sufficient because no poll ever tries to predict what the country as a whole is going to do. It only predicts how likely voters will vote. That's the keyword: likely voters. Someone who is interested enough in the process to participate in a poll is probably interested enough to go vote.
Yes, there are hundreds of companies with competing interests. If one company doesn't take advantage of an opportunity, another will fill its place. Capitalism at its finest.
Children have a much higher success rate for rehabilitation as well. I'm all for "if you do the crime you pay the time" but no parole for a minor doesn't seem fair.
The amount of viewers for the Super Bowl has continued to rise. I doubt there is anything for the NFL to be worried about. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Super_Bowl_TV_ratings
Doesn't matter which direction it hangs for my cat. He just knocks the whole thing off and scratches it up.
"Analyzing helmet sensor data on 1.2 million head impacts sustained by more than 1,800 football players on eight collegiate teams, along with the number of diagnosed concussions they suffered, over a six-year period between 2005 and 2010, researchers identified a 53.9% reduction of concussion risk associated with a newer model of Riddell helmet." http://www.momsteam.com/health-safety/football-helmets-reduce-concussion-risk-study-says
Teach your son the proper way to tackle and he will be fine. Hit with your shoulder, not your head, and wrap up. I recommend checking out this video. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap1000000066928/Tackling-the-Heads-Up-way
This is a larger issue than clothes. It is about bringing cultures together and pushing them apart. The burka is a very traditional and religious symbol that a secular, modern culture like France doesn't want in it.
YouTube is an example of advertisements you don't have to click on. They play a short ad before the video and the content creator gets paid based on how many people watched the ad.
This is called the International Fixed Calendar, first proposed in 1902. It was never adopted by any countries but the Eastman Kodak Company used it for a little over 60 years. There are some advantages to the IFC but not worth the mess it would create making the switch. The whole world would need to adopt it or America would be off from everyone else. Our measuring system is already different from everywhere else and it's a pain in the a**.
The system is rigged. How are you supposed to poll high if you aren't even included in some of the polls? Until we start treating 3rd party candidates like they stand a chance, they won't.
Sure, it is good at what it does, but what will banning it do? Firearms are practically illegal in most of Western Europe and terrorists still find a way of getting their hands on assault weapons. Criminals and terrorists, who are already comfortable with risking jail time, will become the only people who posses these guns if we outlaw them. Doesn't sound safer, does it?
Honestly, Turner would have been better off getting a more severe/average sentence. Then his name wouldn't be blasted all over the media and could, more or less, live his life after being rehabilitated. Instead, he has a huge Wikipedia page about the controversy and it will be impossible for him to find a good job in the future.
Bullies aren't always the bigger ones. See
Anheuser-Busch merged with InBev in 2008. Yes, InBev is a Belgian company but Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) was an American company for over 100 years. To this day it is still based out of St. Louis and creates tons of jobs for Americans. So, by purchasing "America", you are still supporting America.
James Woods just tweeted this: "The world is fighting Islamic terrorism, starvation, and disease, but democrats are fighting for men to pee in the ladies' room. #insanity"
Winston Churchill once said that a socialist government "would have to fall back on some for of Gestapo."
