In Flint, between 6,000 and 12,000 children have been exposed to drinking water with high levels of lead and that could lead to serious health problems. The water is also most likely the cause of an outbreak of the Legionnaires disease which has killed ten and affected countless others. According to government emails, federal bureaucrats knew about the outbreak, so did state and county health officials, so did flints emergency manager, so did the mayor, and the governor’s people. Everyone was told it seems, except the citizens and Governor Rick Snyder, if you believe him. I personally don’t. He wanted to cut costs in order to balance the budget without considering the health repercussions it would have on the people. Even when they found out the water wasn’t safe to drink, they didn’t alert the people of Flint to warn them not to drink it. Lives are ruined because they didn’t want to face the fact that they messed up big time. If there is any justice in this world, the next water Governor Snyder drinks will be served from a tap inside Jackson Prison. It’s amazing how far this has gone and how they continue to drag their feet. It’s time we start prosecuting government officials for their actions, let’s start with Governor Snyder.
