Did Donald Trump say the n-word on tape?

Reports that Donald Trump said the n-word during a taping of the show The Apprentice first emerged in 2016, but have recently reemerged after ex-White House staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman released a new recording showing that senior staffers of the Trump campaign had discussed the possibility of the tape being released in 2016. The recording Manigualt-Newman released was from a phone conversation between herself, Katrina Pierson, and Lynne Patton, during which Pierson mentioned "[figuring] out a way to spin it" before Patton added that he had asked the president if he could remember a time he said the word and Trump said no. However, Pierson added "No, he said it. He is embarrassed.” In addition, Pierson actually denied that the call took place at all before the recording was released.

The situation was only complicated by a recent press release in which Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked “Can you stand at the podium and guarantee the American people will never hear Donald Trump utter the ‘n-word’ on a recording in any context?," to which she responded "I can't guarantee anything" but said that "I've never heard it." Her failure to totally deny the allegations contrasts with Trump's own actions, as he tweeted that "...there are NO TAPES of The Apprentice where I used such a terrible and disgusting word as attributed by wacky and deranged Omarosa."

Most likely, if a tape exists, it will never be released. The producer of The Apprentice, Mark Burnett, stated he did not have the right to make any behind-the-scenes recordings public, as he sold his production firm to MGM, which already stated that it won't release anything.

I think the entire situation is sketchy, particularly because almost everyone involved has changed their story in some way. CNN host Jake Tapper summed it up by saying “This is a challenge for all of us here, we honestly have a story where there are like 30 liars.” If a tape does exist, that's obviously a huge problem for Trump, but I think the evidence is not enough to say that one does exist. I was really shocked that Sanders did not deny the allegations straight out, and I think (from a political standpoint) she should have done so whether or not she believes a tape might exist.

What do you think? It is possible that such a recording exists? Is anyone here telling the truth?
