Everyone has heard the news about what happened in Santa Fe last week, and sadly it seems like everyone knows the "drill" after a school shooting. Every politician offers there thoughts and prayers and people take to social media demanding action, yet it seems like the only thing that has happened is outrage with the NRA. The article written by Scott Stewart in the Stratfor(it is attached at the bottom), he talks about the need for a national organization designed specifically to prevent future school shootings. In his article he details that these shootings are rarely spur of the moment, rather they have clear warning signs that can be detected early on. He discusses the possibility and capability of having a single organization focused on stopping these occurances, and how effective they could be. Now here is a hot take, this organization should be made through the NRA. Although not a government funded group, I believe they have the capacity to accomplish such a task. I am not much of an expert on the situation, but I have reason to believe it would be in the best interest of the NRA to take part in such an organization, because it is there top priority to help educate the public on gun safety. Interested to hear what you all have to say.
